Shifts with varying workloads can cause a lot of problems and tension, especially if drivers are not compensated based on performance. Our new 'Balanced Objective' option delivers a solution. By using it, the algorithm not only tries to keep the overall distance of planned routes as short as possible but also seeks to ensure that the number of addresses on the routes remains comparable.
In most cases, it is not a problem if the vehicle stops on the opposite side of the street from the specified address during delivery, as this often helps save both distance and time. However, in densely populated areas with multi-lane roads, this is no longer feasible, as the driver cannot simply cross a 2x2 or 2x3 lane road. In such situations, it is crucial for the navigation to always direct the vehicle to the correct side of the street, precisely at the given address. This is the purpose of the 'Curbside Objective' feature in route planning. According to our measurements, with more accurate stop planning, routes in Budapest will only be a maximum of 5% longer, while for rural addresses, the planned kilometers will remain unchanged.
